Calling all 4-H Photographers (members, leaders, alumni - Links)

From the 4H office:

We are looking to change our Facebook timeline photo (photos will be changed approximately four times a year) and we thought we'd invite our 4-H community to participate/contribute in the process. Photography is one of 4-H’s mostpopular project. We know there are 4-H cameras out there! Time to take off the lens cap! The theme...What does 4-H mean to you?

Here are some guidelines. Photos should:
1. Evoke emotion
2. Can be abstract/artistic! Don't be afraid to experiment. We know you guys are creative!
3. Don't try and capture everything 4-H does in one photo, because you can't - we do too much!!! So focus on one
aspect: HEAD (planning project work, judging),HEART (any act of giving, sharing, caring), HANDS (close up of hands in action), HEALTH (a healthy food dish you prepared, a club exercise or fitness activity), community service, leadership, etc.
4. 4-H Emblem and colors can be part of the photo, but our avatar will overlay bottom left of the image.
5. Any human beings featured in the photo must have a photo release on file with 4-H office. If considered, we will call and make sure anyone pictured doesn’t mind being on the timeline.  Example, if your club has done something for aretirement or nursing home, you can concentrate on the hands- the craft you made being handed over. Photo doesn’t have to show faces.
6. Photos need to be landscape orientation suitable to be resized or cropped to 850 x 315 pixels, which is the timeline format.
7. No watermarks or text overlays! We will post all entries in an album and give credit to photographers in the album, as well as share your brief description or thoughts behind the submitted photo.
8. Keep taking pictures and submitting them! By itself, the online album will be a great advertisement for 4-H - and we will look into the archives when selecting the next timeline cover. We will also Tweet them from @Delaware4H so keep those images coming all year long!
9. Consider what the image will convey to someone who does not know what 4-H is about. Remember, all timeline images, and our page are always public

You may submit the photos via our Wall on Facebook or you may email the photo to  Tammy Schirmer (tammys@udel.edu) and/or Michele Walfred (walfred@udel.edu) directly.  It will be helpful to note your relationship with Sussex County 4-H when you submit the photos, as well as the caption.

We can't wait to see the results! 4-H F-stops, ready, set go!
